IT’S SHOW TIME AGAIN AT ARDINGLY
7th July 2020
The South of England Event Centre is ready to welcome its first major outdoor clients since lockdown.
“We’re delighted to have our long-standing client, IACF, back on site in July with its popular outdoor Antiques Fair”, says Duncan Rawson, Event Centre Director.
“And it’s also a welcome return for our first drive in movies since the lockdown – both events fully complying with latest Covid-19 guidance”.
The 150-acre Ardingly showground, convenient to Brighton, Gatwick, M23 and M25 motorways, is home to that star in the countryside calendar – the South of England Show.
Regrettably if understandably, this year the event has been cancelled. But Duncan says the site offers so much to companies planning to respond to pent-up visitor demand for outdoor concerts, markets, film shows and classic countryside competitions and has the space to enable social distancing for events of all sizes.
“It’s remarkable what we’ve got here’”, he says. “There’s the entirely level massive showground with a network grid of access roads. There’s the show ring in the middle, ideal for concerts, our first rate caterers on hand, and parking for up to 6,000 cars. But in addition to all that, we’ve also got some top class buildings and indoor conference and exhibition space.
“I’d urge anyone, planning for now or for when restrictions are further eased and needing a venue for a business meeting, conference, indoor show, even a family party, to come and see what we offer at the South of England Event Centre. I think you’ll be surprised and impressed.”

SOUTH OF ENGLAND AGRICULTURAL SOCIETY UPDATE
30th March 2020
Following the decision by the Board of Trustees of the South of England Agricultural Society to cancel Spring Live! (2nd & 3rd May) and the South of England Show (11th, 12th & 12th June) due to current government restrictions, the Society is still hoping to proceed with a bigger and better than ever Autumn Show & Game Fair (3rd & 4th October) and Winter Fair (21st and 22nd November).
We are communicating directly with our ticket holders, members and exhibitors. If you would like any further information, please email hello@seas.org.uk. The Society will be running with a reduced number of staff over the coming weeks and months until we are able to start planning for our future shows, so please bear with us if it takes a little longer than you would like for us to respond.
The South of England Event Centre remains available to hire subject to compliance with current government restrictions. Please contact us on eventcentre@seas.org.uk.
On behalf of everyone involved in the Society, we would like to thank all those people who contribute to and support the shows and the charity. With our very best wishes to you and your families at this difficult time.
Iain Nicol
CEO, South of England Agricultural Society

SOUTH OF ENGLAND AGRICULTURAL SOCIETY ANNOUNCE SHOW CANCELLATIONS – BUT THE VENUE REMAINS OPEN
20th March 2020
After considering the recent government announcements, it is with deep regret that the Board of Trustees of the South of England Agricultural Society has had to make the difficult decision to cancel the following events:
- Spring Live! (Saturday 2 & Sunday 3 May)
- South of England Show (Thursday 11, Friday 12 & Saturday 13 June)
We are expecting and hoping to proceed with a bigger and better than ever Autumn Show & Game Fair (3 & 4 October) and Winter Fair (21 & 22 November).
We understand the impact that this decision will have on the individuals, organisations, businesses and communities that support our shows and we will work with them in the best way we can during this difficult time.
All existing exhibitor bookings, ticket purchases and sponsorship will remain in place and be transferred automatically to next year or to alternative dates and we will be contacting key stakeholders including exhibitors, ticket holders, sponsors and others involved in our events over the coming days and weeks.
The Board of Trustees and Directors of the Event Centre confirm that our venue remains available to hire subject to events meeting current government advice. Click here for the latest information on events held by other organisers at the South of England Event Centre.
On behalf of everyone involved in the Society, we would like to thank all those people who contribute to and support the shows that are such an important part of how we fulfil our charitable objectives. With our very best regards to all of you at this time of great challenge.
CORONAVIRUS (COVID-19) – A STATEMENT FROM THE SOUTH OF ENGLAND AGRICULTURAL SOCIETY
13th March 2020
The Trustees, staff and volunteers of the South of England Agricultural Society are continuing with preparations for this year’s Spring Live! (2 & 3 May) and the South of England Show (11,12 & 13 June). The Event Centre also remains open for indoor and outdoor events.
Our top priority is the safety and wellbeing or our visitors, livestock and clients using the venue and we take their health and safety very seriously.
We work very closely with all relevant agencies including our industry body the Association of Show and Agricultural Organisations (ASAO), Health & Safety Executive and Environmental Health Departments. We will continue to consult with them to ensure a proportional and appropriate response as the coronavirus outbreak unfolds.
We will continue to monitor developments and government advice, acting appropriately as required and advised. External organisers of other events who use the Showground are also taking advice and will respond accordingly.
